Public Notices: Premises licence applications in Oxford and Charlbury

The purpose of a public notice is to make sure anybody – either an individual or a group – with an interest has an opportunity to find out about and comment on the proposal before a decision is made on whether to allow it to go ahead.

Application for a Sex Shop: Love Empire Ltd has applied to Oxford City Council for a licence to use premises at 54 Cowley Road, Oxford, as a sex shop.

Anyone wishing to oppose the application should write to the Head of Regulatory Services and Community Safety, Oxford City Council, Town Hall, St Aldate’s, Oxford, OX1 1BX, by no later than June 1. Please note that any written representations in response to this consultation are likely to be required to be made available for public inspection in accordance with the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985.

Littlemore, Oxford Road: The road was closed to through traffic on May 15 for the installation of ducting and cable which is anticipated to be completed June 2.

Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.

The alternative route for traffic is via Cowley Road, Newman Road, Oxford Road and vice versa.

St Ebbes premises licence: Electric North Limited has applied to Oxford City Council for a premises licence at Current Works, 34 St Ebbes Street, Oxford.

This would permit the sale of alcohol for consumption on the premises from Monday to Saturday 9am to 11pm and on Sundays from 11am to 10pm.

Footpath from Rewley Road, Sheepwash Bridge: The footpath will be closed from June 1 for the demolition and construction of Sheepwash Bridge which is anticipated to be completed on April 27, 2024.

Part of the footpath from Rewley Road by the Oxford Swing Bridge to the junction with the towpath of the Oxford Canal by the wooden arch bridge will be closed.

Exemptions are included for emergency services, for works and for pedestrian access to premises which are only accessible from the closed sections of footpath.

The alternative route will be signed via Cripley Road, Botley Road and Rewley Road and vice versa. Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

Premises Licence, Charlbury: Chloe Horner has applied to West Oxfordshire District Council for a licence for Chloe’s Alder House, Market Street, Charlbury, to serve on and off sales of alcohol from 10am – 5pm Thursdays and Saturday and until 10pm on a Friday with occasional opening on Wednesdays and Sundays and additional evenings on Thursdays and Saturdays.
