Winners announced for North West Homebuilder Awards
Genesis Homes claimed three honours at the celebration of region’s SME housebuilders, held at Manchester’s Albert Hall on 22 June.
The Cumbrian developer was named Homebuilder of the Year, while its Pennine View project in Calthwaite was named Sustainability Project of the Year. Genesis managing director John Blue was awarded the title of Rising Star of the Year.
This was the second year for the Cowgills North West Homebuilder Awards. Place North West was the event’s media sponsor.
Naming Genesis Homes as Homebuilder of the Year was “an obvious choice”, according to Cowgills head of property and construction Stuart Stead.
Stead elaborated: “Their carbon net-zero Pennine View development went well beyond the current requirements to deliver energy-efficient and low-running-cost homes, and they’ve created local jobs through the scheme, which was really important for the judges.”
Genesis Homes was not the only company to emerge from the Albert Hall victorious on Thursday.
Blueoak Estates’ 20-home Tollemache Green in the village of Alpraham in Cheshire was named Smaller Housing Scheme of the Year.
Northstone’s 268-home Tulach in Wigan earned the Larger Housing Scheme of the Year award.
Smaller Development of the Year went to The Property Hub’s The Wharf, while Rowlinson’s The Depot in Manchester claimed the Larger Development of the Year honour.
Reform Developments earned the Conversion of the Year award for its Ford Park House. Place First’s Welsh Streets was named Community Impact Project of the Year. Over in Cheshire, PH Homes’ Alderley Park was the Placemaking Project of the Year.
Prospect Homes was awarded the Advocating Inclusivity Award.
